Service Commercialisation

Many organisations are being pressed into finding additional sources of cost reduction, but often overlook cost recovery and even commercialisation opportunities. This strategy allows a cost-centre to be turned into a profit-centre over time.

Our "Service Commercialisation" program walks organisations through a three-step process to identify, develop and implement commercially viable services from existing internal processes. We start by employing our service assessment framework and software to assist with prioritising and aligning existing work processes as candidates for commercialisation. From there we work with the client to understand market dynamics including the estimated demand and availability of the service in the accessible market. Finally we develop a strategy and roadmap to ensure that required improvements, including automation and integration opportunities, are implemented and packaged for delivery along with a marketing plan that may involve

As an example of Service Commercialisation, a local horse racing track did a review of existing processes and cost centres. It soon found that it expended a substantial sum annually to dispose of horse manure collected in and around the track. After a very simple market assessment it was found that local mushroom farmer's were eager to not only pay to collect and transport the manure, but would even pay a premium for the "product". The result was that the track was able to turn a budgeted expense item into a revenue generating service and even re-assign work effort to other areas.
